What a Smile Makeover Actually Involves

A smile makeover isn't a single treatment. It's a combination of treatments worked out specifically for you, planned to fix the things that bother you about your smile. For some people it's whitening and one or two veneers. For others it's straightening teeth first, then whitening, then ceramic crowns on the front teeth. Every plan is different.
At Tangmere we plan smile makeovers around the principle that the result should look natural. We don't do uniform Hollywood smiles. We design veneers and crowns to match your face, your features and the natural character of your teeth. Most makeovers don't announce themselves - they just make you look better.

How a Tangmere
Smile Makeover Works

Initial Smile Consultation

A proper conversation about what you don't like, what you do like, what's realistic and what's not. We take photos, do an initial examination, and check the underlying health of your teeth and gums. If there's underlying decay or gum disease, that needs sorting first.

Digital Smile Design

We design your proposed new smile digitally. You see it on screen, on a photograph of your face, and we adjust until it looks the way you want it to. This is the stage where we work out shape, size, colour and how the smile sits with your features. No commitments at this stage.

Treatment Sequencing

Once the design is agreed, we plan the order of work. Often this is: gum and tooth health first if needed, then orthodontics (Invisalign or Six Month Smiles) if teeth need straightening, then whitening, then ceramic veneers or crowns on the teeth that need them. The full plan is shared upfront so there are no surprises.

Cerec Same-Day Porcelain

For the veneers and crowns, we use our in-house Cerec system. We design and mill the porcelain pieces in the practice, fit them the same day, and finish with a custom kiln glaze to colour-match them to your other teeth. No impressions, no temporaries, no second visit for the ceramic work.

The Finishing Stage

Final whitening and minor adjustments to make sure everything sits right when you bite, when you smile, and when you talk. You leave with photos and a plan for keeping the result looking good for years.

Frequently Asked Questions About
Smile Makeovers

Anywhere from a few weeks to a year, depending on what's involved. Simple cases (whitening plus 1-2 veneers) take 4-6 weeks. Cases involving Invisalign first take around six months. We give you a clear timeline at the planning stage.

It depends entirely on what your plan involves. A few examples: whitening plus two ceramic veneers is around £2,625. A full eight-tooth front veneer case is around £8,800 plus whitening. Plans involving Invisalign add another £4,000-£5,000. We give you a full quote after your consultation.

Not the way we do it. We aim for natural results. We design veneers to match your face, not to look uniform. Most of our patients tell us they're complimented on looking well, rather than on having had work done.

Often, yes. Many of our smile makeovers don't need veneers at all - Invisalign plus whitening can transform a smile without any drilling. We always go for the least invasive option that delivers the result you want.

Cerec ceramic veneers and crowns last around 20 years with good care. Whitening lasts 1-3 years before top-ups. Invisalign needs retainers to keep teeth straight. Once the makeover is done, ongoing care is mainly about regular check-ups and hygiene visits.

Not for most steps. Cerec veneer and crown appointments are about 90 minutes each. Whitening is at home. Invisalign appointments are short check-ups. The full process is designed to fit around your normal schedule.
