Our Fees

Clear pricing for everything we do, with no surprise bills at the end of an appointment. A routine examination is £77.50 and a new patient examination is £100, and the full cost list for every treatment is set out below. Monthly plans are available if you would rather spread the cost of your regular care across the year.

How We Handle Pricing

Tangmere is a private dental practice, and we would rather be upfront about money than have you worry about it. We always tell you what a recommended treatment costs before it starts, so there are no hidden charges and no pressure to buy work you do not need. In dentistry there is usually more than one way to fix the same problem, and the options rarely cost the same. We explain what each one costs and what result you can expect, then let you decide.
Where a fee below shows as a range, such as £200 to £450, the lower figure is for the simplest version of that treatment and the higher figure is for the most complex. All fees are correct from 26 August 2026 and are reviewed once a year.

You Get a Written Quote Before Treatment Starts

For anything beyond a routine examination or a hygiene visit, you get a written quote before any work begins. It breaks the job down step by step, shows what each step costs and sets out any alternatives worth considering, so you can take it away and think it over.
Quotes are usually valid for 90 days. Accept within that window and the price holds. Leave it longer and we may need to re-confirm it, because our fees may have been reviewed in the meantime.

How you can pay

We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay through our card terminal, and cash, though most people pay by card. Plan members pay by monthly Direct Debit, collected by Simplyhealth Professionals.

Ways to Spread the Cost

Our monthly dental plans are the main way patients spread the cost of regular care. You pay one monthly amount that covers most of your routine care, and on the full Care plan most treatment as well. It is worked out to be cheaper than paying visit by visit at our standard fees, and members also get a discount on the fees above, worldwide dental emergency cover, and no booking fee for the visits their plan includes.
if finance is back and we are working to bring it back for larger treatment cases. In the meantime, credit cards let you spread the cost on your own card terms, and bigger treatment plans can often be staged so the cost falls naturally across several months.
If you have your heart set on a course of treatment and need help paying for it, talk to us and we will see what we can work out.

Booking Fees, Cancellations and Payment Policy

A booking fee secures most appointments. It is not an extra charge. It is part of your treatment fee paid up front, and it comes off the cost of the visit when you attend. Plan members pay no booking fee for the examinations and hygiene visits included in their membership. We charge it because appointment time is limited, and it cuts down significantly on no-shows that leave a clinician sitting idle when another patient could have used the slot.
Appointment time is always chargeable, so how much notice you give changes what you pay:

24hrs+ notice

Never charged. Cancel or reschedule freely.

Short notice, but you called

A fee applies to cover staff wages, but it's at least 50% lower than not showing up at all — and there's no fee if we manage to fill the slot.

Did not attend

The highest fee, taken from your booking fee, to cover the staff wages for that reserved time.
Treatment itself is paid for as the work progresses, usually at each appointment, so please bring a payment method with you. For larger courses of work we may take a deposit at booking and the balance as we go. We do not offer credit within the practice, and an unpaid account may mean further appointments are put on hold until it is settled. If you know a particular appointment will be hard to pay for, tell us beforehand rather than afterwards, and we can often move it to a date that suits your timing better.

Frequently Asked Questions About Fees

The fees listed here are our standard private fees. Members of our monthly dental plans get a discount on them as part of their membership, and that is the main built-in saving we offer. We do not run sales or promotions on dental work.

No. We have a limited NHS contract that is being phased out, and there are no NHS places available for new patients. New patients can only register privately.

For most appointments you pay at the end of the visit. For a longer course of treatment spread over several appointments, we would usually take a deposit when you book and then the balance as each stage of the work is done.

Slightly. The minimum in-hours emergency fee for registered patients is £77.50. Out-of-hours emergencies through the private rota service cost more, starting at a £200 call-out fee with treatment charged on top. The Emergency Dentistry page has the full detail.
